      1. Submit under provisions of Section 01300.
      2. Product Data:  Manufacturer's data sheets on each product to be used, including:
        1. Preparation instructions and recommendations.
        2. Storage and handling requirements and recommendations.
        3. Installation methods.
    6. 1.6   QUALITY ASSURANCE
      1. Manufacturer Qualifications: Obtain each type of fiberboard and related joint treatment materials from a single manufacturer regularly engaged in producing fiberboard.
      2. Installer Qualifications: Perform work by company specializing in Work of this Section with minimum 5 years documented experience.
    7. 1.7   DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
      1. Store products in manufacturer's unopened packaging until ready for installation.
      2. Store products inside under cover and keep them dry and protected against damage from weather, direct sunlight, surface contamination, corrosion, construction traffic, and other damaging causes.
    8. 1.8   PROJECT CONDITIONS
      1. Anticipate and schedule work to assure environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's absolute limits.
  2. PART 2 PRODUCTS
    1. 2.1   MANUFACTURERS

      2. Substitutions: Not permitted.
      3. Requests for substitutions will be considered in accordance with provisions of Section 01600.
    2. 2.2   MATERIALS
      1. Wood Fiber Roofing Substrate: Fibrous-felted wood fiber and water-resistant binders, asphalt impregnated, 7 percent maximum water absorption and Class III or Class C flame spread rating.
        1. Roofing substrate shall meet or exceed ASTM C208, classified as a Type II (roof insulation), Grade 1 and Grade 2 roof insulation board.
        2. Roofing substrate shall meet FM Global approval for roof insulation for I-60 and I-90 wind uplift rated systems.
        3. Roofing substrate shall meet Underwriters Laboratories' Classified product for built-up roof covering materials.
        4. Products: Fully Coated Fiber Base HD by Temple-Inland.
        5. Products: Coated One Side Fiber Base HD by Temple-Inland.
        6. Products: Uncoated Fiber Base HD by Temple-Inland.
        7. Thickness: 1/2 inch (13 mm).
          1. Thermal resistance R-Value, (Km2/W): 1.32.
        8. Thickness: 25/32 inch (21 mm).
          1. Thermal resistance R-Value, (Km2/W): 2.06.
        9. Thickness: As indicated on drawings.
    3. 2.3   ACCESSORIES
      1. Fasteners:
        1. Factory-coated steel fasteners and metal or plastic plates meeting corrosion-resistance provisions in FM Global 4470, designed for fastening roof insulation to substrate, and acceptable to roofing system manufacturer.
        2. Provide fasteners and plates in compliance with manufacturer recommendations and code enforced standards.
  3. PART 3 EXECUTION
    1. 3.1   EXAMINATION
      1. Examine areas and conditions under which Work of this Section will be performed. Correct conditions detrimental to timely and proper completion of Work. Do not proceed until unsatisfactory conditions are corrected.
    2. 3.2   INSTALLATION
      1. Application: Install substrate board with long joints in continuous straight lines, perpendicular to roof slopes with end joints staggered between rows. Tightly butt substrate boards.
        1. Fasten substrate board to top flanges of steel deck according to recommendations in FM Global's “Approval Guide” for specified Windstorm Resistance Classification.
        2. Fasten substrate board to top flanges of steel deck to resist uplift pressure at corners, perimeter, and field of roof according to roofing system manufacturer's written instructions.
