StructGuard® TS

Mold- and Water-Resistant Structural Gypsum Sheathing

StructGuard TS is the structural gypsum sheathing that also simplifies application, maximizes moisture, mold and fire resistance and provides exceptional cost efficiency and stability. All in addition to delivering code-recognized wall bracing strength.

Structural Sheathing Building Code References:

Structural gypsum sheathing is referenced in the IRC, IBC, UBC, SBC and NBC as a code-recognized structural wall bracing material when manufactured according to the product standard ASTM 1396.

StructGuard TS meets this standard. Every sheet of material is printed with the acknowledgment:

CONFORMS to IRC R702.3. MEETS ASTM C1396.
Structural Wall Bracing Acceptance IRC R602.10.3
Please refer to your local building code.

If necessary, we can provide a list of specific code references to structural gypsum board or answer any questions your local code officials may have.

StructGuard TS sheathing has been fire-resistance classified by Underwriters Laboratories, and has been approved for use in multiple fire-resistant assemblies. Below is a list of those systems.

Area Separation Wall Drawing Details:

Details regarding the typical construction of an area separation wall are available to show its intersection with a foundation, exterior wall, intermediate floor and roof. PDF files featuring several specific product solutions are linked on the page listed below.

If you do not see the design number you need in this list, please contact glennmiller@templeinland.com or ericmarsal@templeinland.com

Note: These drawings are presented for the convenience of the user. Responsibility for the correct use of these assemblies lies with the user. Greater detail is available in Temple-Inland's U.L. Catalog. Or contact your Temple-Inland representative for assistance.

Please refer to local code requirements and the U.L. Fire-Resistance Directory for specific construction details when a fire-rated assembly is required.
