Gypsum Recycled Content

LEED rating system credits

Because of the significantly high percentages of recycled material in Temple-Inland gypsum board products, they can contribute valuable credits toward LEED rating system project certification. Below are two areas those credits may apply.

LEED MR 4

Our gypsum board products are certified in accordance with ISO 14021 standards to contain significant percentages of recycled material that can contribute toward LEED credit MR 4. See our Sustainable Materials Data chart for more info.

The recycled content levels of products produced in our Cumberland City, Tennessee, Fletcher, Oklahoma, and West Memphis, Arkansas, facilities are also third-party verified by Scientific Certification Systems (SCS).

LEED MR 5

In many areas of the U.S., Temple-Inland gypsum board products can easily contribute toward LEED credit MR 5, encouraging the use of regional and local materials. View a mileage reference map.

2009 LEED For Schools

Temple-Inland gypsum board products are third-party certified by Materials Analytical Services, LLC (MAS) to meet the performance standard established for low-emitting materials under the Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS) program.
