Fire-Resistant Gypsum Board

Fire-Resistant Gypsum Board

Sometimes a wall needs to do more than just look beautiful. That’s why we manufacture fire-resistant gypsum board. By supplementing gypsum board’s natural fire resistance with glass fibers and other additives, our fire-resistant board proudly carries the Underwriter Laboratories’ stamp of approval (U.L. file #R6937). Yet it offers the same smooth, consistent surface that is as easy to work with as our regular gypsum board.

Temple-Inland’s fire-resistant gypsum board product line now consists of our standard Type-X panels and our improved Type TG-C panels. This new formula takes the place of our previous Type-C and Type-T products and has been approved for use in almost twice as many UL assemblies.

See the chart below for a list of products manufactured using one or both fire-resistant formulas.

Features:

  • Provides a smooth, clean surface perfect for a variety of finishes—paint, wallpaper or textures.
  • Cuts easily and can be shaped to fit any design.
  • Available with certified recycled content for environmental “green” requirements
