Our regular gypsum board is the foundation for beautiful walls. That’s because it offers an easy-to-work-with, smooth, consistent surface. Manufactured in a range of dimensions, it is an efficient, affordable, lightweight material for both remodeling and new construction.
- 1⁄4" - A lightweight, low-cost gypsum board used to form curved surfaces, cover old wall and ceiling surfaces, and as a base layer for improving sound control in double layer steel and wood stud partitions.
- 3⁄8" - A lightweight, low-cost gypsum board used in double wall systems over wood framing. Also used for repair and remodeling of residential and commercial construction.
- 1⁄2" - A lightweight, low-cost gypsum board used extensively in residential construction.
Regular gypsum board also provides some fire resistance. When exposed to flames, the natural moisture contained in the gypsum core is slowly released as steam, effectively retarding heat transmission.
