DIBOLL, Texas -- Temple-Inland® has added a new product to their growing GreenGlass family…GreenGlass liner panels. Due to the success of their GreenGlass sheathing that was launched in late 2008, Temple-Inland has created this specialized product for use in elevators and mechanical/electrical shafts, stairwells and area separation walls. GreenGlass provides maximum protection against mold, moisture, fire and unwanted noise, making it a good choice for multi-family, townhomes, hospitals, offices, schools – or any environment in which protection is key.
“GreenGlass is a premium fiberglass-faced product that delivers all of the exposure protection you expect from a glass-mat sheathing…and provides valuable contributions to environmental credits at a level no one else can match,” says Stephen Raley, Vice President, Gypsum. “The demand for green building is aggressive and sustained. We’ve added liner panels to the GreenGlass family to meet a very specialized need both in terms of materials and environmental sensitivity.”
GreenGlass is produced with the TemShield® Mold Protection System engineered into its gypsum core and is faced on both sides with naturally mold- and moisture-resistant fiberglass mat. When tested in accordance with ASTM D3273, the standard test for mold resistance, GreenGlass scored a perfect 10. Plus, GreenGlass has an exposure warranty for up to 12 months… a real plus on projects in which the approval and signoff process requires an extended amount of time.
Not only do GreenGlass liner panels offer the high performance of a fiberglass-faced product – they also contains at least 90% recycled content, the highest level in the industry. GreenGlass sets a whole new standard and can contribute valuable credits to LEED and other green-building system certifications.
GreenGlass is U.L. approved for use in multiple 2-hour shaftwall and area separation wall assemblies. Manufactured with double-beveled edges, an easy-to-handle 2-foot width, 1" thickness and lengths of 8', 10' and 12', GreenGlass is designed to make application faster, more efficient and require a smaller crew than masonry construction. GreenGlass also offers improved fiberglass encapsulation to reduce skin irritation during handling and installation as well as to limit airborne particulates when the product is cut. Bottom line…GreenGlass satisfies the most demanding design requirements, is easier to install and sets the highest green construction standards.
