CypressShake is different from anything in Temple-Inland’s present siding line. It’s a hybrid product applied in horizontal courses like a lap siding but featuring a strong, vertical texture like panel siding. CypressShake provides a classic shake styling that is equally suitable for installation as a decorative accent or as a single material exterior veneer.
Available in both 7/16-inch and 1/2-inch thicknesses, 12-inch wide laps and 16-foot lengths, CypressShake delivers the same performance properties and defect-free installation efficiencies as Temple-Inland’s entire engineered wood siding and trim product lines. Plus, it’s covered by an identical 30-year substrate warranty and an 8-year primer warranty.
Pat Aldred, Temple-Inland’s fiberboard products vice president, believes CypressShake will be very popular with builders and designers searching for a different visual feel. “The cypress texture has a very clearly defined and rustic grain that is a refreshing alternative to the cedar patterns that are quite common.” He also added, “CypressShake features variable-spaced grooves that simulate the effect of random sized shakes giving each installation it’s own custom appearance.”
