Temple-Inland introduces UltraStock™-MR, a moisture-resistant medium density fiberboard

DIBOLL, Texas -- Temple-Inland has introduced UltraStock™-MR, an interior grade, moisture-resistant, medium density fiberboard (MDF) intended for applications where damp or wet conditions exist.

Featuring enhanced moisture-resistant resins and other additives, UltraStock-MR is formulated to provide increased protection without sacrificing performance. It is an ideal substrate for kitchen and bathroom sink bases, dishwasher enclosures and manufacturer-specified fastening strips between cabinets and solid surface countertops.

UltraStock-MR is also suitable for laboratories, locker rooms, laundry areas, and cafeterias of schools, industrial facilities and other public buildings where wetness and high humidity are a factor.

Delivering improved dimensional stability and reduced thickness swell when wet, UltraStock-MR is especially valuable anywhere joints, seams and damage in laminated or finished surfaces allow moisture penetration. This includes interior window and door trim, baseboards and laminate flooring that may become wet from mopping, condensation or even foot traffic.

“UltraStock-MR is another in our growing line of products featuring performance properties that allow manufacturers to produce better results, and do so more efficiently,” said Bryan Wilson, sales/marketing manager for industrial panels. “This enables manufacturers to streamline their ordering and inventory management while still meeting their customers’ needs.”

UltraStock-MR is part of a family of medium density fiberboard products that provide a range of performance characteristics and dimensions to give manufacturers the ability to select the best board for their specific application.

Available throughout Temple-Inland’s distribution network, UltraStock-MR is manufactured in thicknesses of 1/4" through 1-5/16" and is available in 4' x 8' and 5' x 8' panels.
