Cutting
Use a fine-toothed hand or power saw. The cutting action should be into the face of siding, i.e., face up with hand saws or miter saws, face down with table saws or portable circular saws, etc.
Nailing
Follow specific recommendations regarding nail types, sizes and spacing for fastening lap siding as well as the general nailing guidelines chart to remedy certain nailing conditions.
