Doyle joined the company in 1992 serving in various capacities, including corporate attorney, Director of Investor Relations, Vice President of Administration, Chief Administrative Officer and Executive Vice President. Prior to joining Temple-Inland, he was in private practice with Hutcheson and Grundy, L.L.P. in Houston.

Mr. Simons serves on the Board of Directors of Fiserv, Inc., American Forest & Paper Association and the Board of Visitors of The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center. He is a member of the Texas Governor's Business Council and serves on the Advisory Councils of the College of Natural Sciences and the Texas Memorial Museum at The University of Texas at Austin.

Doyle holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Baylor University and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from The University of Texas at Austin.
